More and more councils around Australia are taking advantage of Porphyry Stones durability and good looks when "beautifying" tired kerbsides and street landscape. The rejuvenation of a city's "strip" shopping areas with porphyry helps bring back a cosmopolitan atmosphere that shoppers love.

Another example of the many uses of Porphyry setts. Skateboarders damaging sandstone walls led to the use of retrofitted stainless steel "skateboard deterrents". A great idea for public spaces.
